Hello, my name is Lindsay Atkinson and with hard work and passion I formed a brand new festival Atlas that brings something completely different to the UK festival scene.

Launching Atlas Festival this year merges the UK's love of travelling with the love of music festivals. The event brings some top class music together with workshops, countries to explore, outdoor activities, shopping, world food and drink plus many more. It's been exceptionally well received, being picked out for respected publications such as WhatsOn's Festival Guide, Face the Current Magazine plus many online festival guides and event calendars.

As I write this the festival is 51 days away and whilst I find it a strange concept to have to reach out to the public, I need your help. My dream was always to make this an incredible experience for all attendees and no matter what money is raised I will still keep that promise. Unless you are Glasto, festivals are not profitable and very expensive to put on; all the infrastructure that goes on behind the scenes all adds up. I have funded this all myself so far through working exceptionally hard to save, and this event was never launched as a money- maker. I have done everything alone from designing the logos, to advertising, social media, planning, booking bands and being tea-monkey!

It's extremely hard to get people to put their trust in a new festival and so it has been hard to raise the exact funds needed early on, so this money will help kick-start a couple of the production elements that have had to be put on the side.

All money raised will ensure that those people that have put their trust in me and Atlas will still have an amazing experience and it will also support the platform for all of the new bands that are getting exposure where they wouldn't normally get that chance, along with boosting the profile of the area. This fund raising is through the love of the events world and for the experience for the public and not for any personal gain. If by a miracle the target is exceeded this will go directly into additional festival structure and support costs, so please keep donating where you can.

Every pound will be gratefully received, used wisely and the hope is to make this an annual event to bring the best of the world into one area. Ideally I'd prefer people to buy tickets to the event and come and experience it in its entirety, however if you can't attend this year for any reason then a donation is still supporting the festival and would still be an amazing way to help.
