I Would Rather Build 4 Walls
I've been watching people over the last few days donate hundreds and thousands of dollars to build the wall and if these people can raise millions of dollars to kill peoples dreams why not create something that inspires people. Why not make a difference and take a dream and turn it into a reality? So, they have raised 2 million dollars in 5 days for one wall. Well, I want to build 4 walls. 4 walls that will create small homes for people that need them.
So, who am I? My name is Michael Knote and I am the founder of a small charity called Have A Gay Day. We are all volunteers, and no one makes a paycheck and there is no staff just amazing volunteers in the community. Everything that is raised from this fundraiser will be going to this project. If we raise a little or if we raise a lot, we are going to use it to plan a tiny community, buy the land for the tiny community, build the tiny community, expand the tiny community.
My dream isn't building one wall, my dream is building 4 walls... lots of them. It's building paths, from home to home. It's building small clinics and education centers. Small start up businesses and small opportunities that change peoples lives. Everyone has dreams, but my dream was never to see thousands of people fund a wall while people in this country don't even have a roof over their heads and while people struggle to pay the simplest of bills.

I would love to make this tiny community off the grid as much as possible to keep the cost down. I also would like to research grants no matter what is raised and hope to use this money in a way that stretches it out for years and generations to come.
