Colonial Harry L. Cooper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 160; in Glen Burnie, MD, just celebrated their eighty second year of service. We are in dire need of a new roof. We are a nonprofit veterans' organization which provides; many events, veteran services, family and community services, along with a place for members and guest to go and relax within the surrounding community of Glen Burnie and Anne Arundel County.
Some examples of the charitable deeds of our Post is the annual Easter, Halloween, and Christmas parties that are held for the children of our community. Post 160 also sponsors Honor Flights which receives and entertains and feeds
World War II veterans and their escorts before they embark on their journey to Washington D.C. where they visit the memorial designed to honor them. We also provide a place for retirement ceremonies, adult Christmas parties, Boy Scouts events and flag retirements, free Veterans Day lunches, gathering of food baskets for members in need within our community, and we house the Marine Corps League who collects toys for Toys For Tots and they supply toys to children in need of Anne Arundel County Maryland.
To keep these programs going and viable, the Post is in dire need of the community's assistance. We have been given estimates for a new roof quoted at over $100,000. We are reaching to you for help.
Your generous donation will go towards our roof, which will help to protect us for another eighty two years.
