Please keep one of our young COFR team members "Avryn Hayes" in your prayers as he was in a head on collusion today. While on his way to school, a truck crossed the center median and stuck the subaru that he was riding in with his mother's boyfriend, Jared Garza. Avryn was airlifted to Doernbecher where he remains in ICU with a broken femur, fractured skull, and fractured vertebra. We are Central Oregon Fishing Report and Avryn Hayes and his father are both members of our team. Anything you can help his family with its much appreciated!!! https://youtu.be/2noZJ9bVMrI

It has been 5 months since avryn accident in April and 3 months since we have been back home. Avryn has been working very hard with Therapies to regain memory and cognitive functions. Avryn endured a 5-hour testing session up in Portland last month in preparation to return to School this year. He continues to excel in reading and math while fine motor functions such as writing and shape replication or less than desired. Additional occupational therapy has been scheduled to keep avryn on track as well as some new tools and the classroom to Aid in school work. Avryn received a very special transport on his first day of school thanks to the First Responders, Bend PD and bend Fire and Rescue. Avryn had a full police escort to school and was personally driven by Officer Eric Russell who help save avryn life. Kohd covered the story if you missed it and would like to watch the replay. Avryn is attending half days at school currently while evaluating his ability to focus and perform. We continue follow ups at OHSU, Legacy Emanuel, and Copa, and a leg surgery is in avryn future this coming spring. We thank you all for your continued support and hope that you will keep sharing his story as he recovers. Thank you. -Asheley

Avryn has a very busy daily schedule of therapies such as Neuro, physical, occupational, and speech. We have had many sleepless nights but are working together as a team to comfort and create a healing environment for both Avryn and ourselves. We have had many sucesses and are happy for each milestone, but Avryn is still very confused and gets agitated easily at this stage of healing. We are working on managing both his pain and obstacles as they arise. We are so thankful for everyone's prayers and encourage your ongoing support as Avryn continues on his long road to recovery.

Avryn is doing good, he has been conscious up to about an hour and a half, hes had an ice cream, even said "vanilla" when asked what kind and has had a popsicle. He is understanding he is in the hospital slowly but is still scared and it can be hard for him to understand that his body is broken and he needs to be still to rest. He is in a lot of pain but it is being managed, however resting can be rough. He took his father's sunglasses and put them on his own face because it was bright in the room. He is standing on his own here and there and urinating on his own.

Thank you all, as we continue to help him progress and build back his strength and abilities.
