Sudan is going through a revolution and we need your support to stage an exhibition shedding light on the events and building solidarity.

Since December 19, Sudanese protesters have fought against their regime’s corruption and destruction and were met with excessive and lethal force. More than 70 died, and yet they persisted and transformed their protests into the April 6th revolution, which resulted in the end of Omar Elbashir’s dictatorship.
They’re still in the streets, demanding a handover of power to civilian rule, standing up to the military council that has taken Elbashir’s place. Thousands of Sudanese people have been camping out in front of the military headquarters. They need our help and our continued attention.
The #SudanUprising Exhibition will take place in Montreal in a show of solidarity with the people of Sudan. Forty artworks by Sudanese artists will be displayed along with movie screenings, music and discussions centered around the revolution. This will take place at Alternatives on June 13, 14 and 15. Organised by Montreal-based Sudanese activists, the #SudanUprising Exhibitions are a worldwide series of exhibitions taking place to draw public attention to the situation in Sudan and the Sudanese revolution.
We need your help in making this event happen, as most of us organizing this event are new to the country and the city and this would be our first event here. Your support will help us with preparing the venue, printing the art, providing refreshments, and other costs associated with the event.
Any additional money received will be used to repeat the exhibition in other cities and continue raising awareness and building solidarity with the Sudanese revolution.
We appreciate every cent donated, Sudanese people need the world’s solidarity now more than ever during this critical time in the history of the country. It means a lot to share the work of Sudanese artists globally and shed light on a turning point in the history of Sudan.

Depuis le 19 décembre, les manifestants soudanais luttent contre la corruption et la destruction de leur régime et sont confrontés à une force excessive et mortelle. Plus de 70 personnes sont mortes, et pourtant ils ont persisté et transformé leurs protestations en révolution du 6 avril, ce qui a entraîné la fin de la dictature d'Omar Elbashir.
Ils sont toujours dans la rue, réclamant le transfert du pouvoir à un gouvernement civil, tenant tête au conseil militaire qui a pris la place d'Elbashir. Des milliers de Soudanais ont campé devant l'état-major militaire. Ils ont besoin de notre aide et de notre attention constante.
L'exposition #SudanUprising aura lieu à Montréal en signe de solidarité avec le peuple du Soudan. Quarante œuvres d'art d'artistes soudanais seront exposées ainsi que des projections de films, de la musique et des discussions autour de la révolution. Elle aura lieu à Alternatives les 13, 14 et 15 juin. Organisées par des militants soudanais basés à Montréal, les #SudanUprising Exhibitions sont une série d'expositions mondiales qui ont pour but d'attirer l'attention du public sur la situation au Soudan et la révolution soudanaise.
Nous avons besoin de votre aide pour réaliser cet événement, car la plupart d'entre nous qui l'organisons sont nouveaux au pays et dans la ville et ce serait notre premier événement ici. Votre soutien nous aidera à préparer le lieu de l'événement, à imprimer les œuvres d'art, à offrir des rafraîchissements et à couvrir les autres coûts associés à l'événement.
Toute somme supplémentaire reçue sera utilisée pour répéter l'exposition dans d'autres villes et continuer à sensibiliser l'opinion et à renforcer la solidarité avec la révolution soudanaise.
