Support Steve & his family in aftermath of floods

Many of us have known Steve Hall for a number of years, going back to university and beyond. Those of us who know Steve would also know he would be really embarrassed if he found out about this, which is why I've blocked from from seeing it and will only let him know afterwards.

You'll all be aware of the recent flooding where he lives in Townsville, Australia and I've been in touch with Steve over the past few days since this happened. He's not moaned about the situation him and Patty and their 4 kids find themselves in. Steve's shared with me that having been back to their house after the flooding has subsided a bit, most of their furniture has had to be dumped, carpets ripped up and the property has been cleaned up as best it can be. Their car is also a write off and with 4 kids.... a car is pretty important. Steve mentioned in passing that their insurance wouldn't cover all that they had lost in these floods. He didn't even mention about the kids toys and other things like that which wont be on the insurers radar. When i asked, Steve said he thinks it will be months before they get to go back home.

So i was thinking about how we, Steve's friends, could rally around and help him and his family at this difficult time, and maybe we can raise a bit of money to help lessen the deficit of what their insurance won't cover.
