Support Roger Valles

Roger Valles is known for his work in our community raising donations for charity often in a screen accurate Star Wars costume or other sci-fi character. Over the years he has been a member of the 501st Legion, volunteering to organize and collect donations in the form of monetary gifts as well as toys and even food for those in need. Roger is also the Creative Arts Chair board member for our local MakerSpace, responsible for cosplay membership doubling. Roger now *needs* your help. Roger recently has had one heck of a time with illness that placed him in the hospital multiple times over the last few months. This left him with a compromised immune system which led to Roger contracting an unknown bacteria which has greatly damaged his body. It was touch and go for a bit as he struggled with this debilitating situation. One emergency surgery and one follow up surgery were required to remove the damage and now Roger is recovering in an Intensive Care Unit. As Roger lives with his elderly parents and his small nieces and nephews, the family was required to have their home professionally disinfected. This necessary precaution was done to ensure his family is safe. The $5,070.51 cost of this service has put an immediate financial strain on Roger's family that we as a community can help resolve. Additionally, due to the biohazard situation, Roger’s 2 elderly cats need to be temporarily boarded which is going to cost approximately $900 as they may need to be boarded for a few weeks. Please donate whatever you can, even if only $5, and rest assured that your donation is going directly to Roger’s brother, Armando Valles, to help pay for said services. Roger will no doubt have many physical and financial hurdles to overcome in the near future, but let’s help remove these particular items from Roger and his family’s list of burdens so that they can all focus on his RECOVERY!
