Campaign update
Last summer, we launched this gofundme campaign to keep our hotel staff employed and our educational program running during the political unrest in Nicaragua. Unfortunately, due to the situation, tourists have stopped coming to Nicaragua and the hotel has been empty for months.
Despite your generous support, for which we are very thankful, we had to take a very difficult decision. With pain in our hearts we were forced to let some of our hotel employees go.
As you know, Hotel con Corazón invests its profits in educational programs in rural communities surrounding Granada. The program stimulates children to finish their school, to continue learning and to enhance their future perspectives. This is very important in a country where only 50% of the children finishes elementary school.
For the near future, we foresee that the hotel will not generate the profit required for the educational project. At this moment our educational program runs on our financial reserves, but these reserves are not infinite.
For this reason, we ask you once again for your support.
In order to continue the educational project, we need $3.000 per month. With this money, we can pay the salaries of our tutors and continue offering the educational activities as usual.
We have extended our campaign until the 1st of November.
