Hi all,

Understandable there has been a lot of questions about the status of the funds raised for Omena and his children and this has led to some misinformation out there as well.

I would like to use this platform to apologise for not providing timely information and also to clear up some of the confusion.

Prior to Omena's death he was made sole beneficiary of the funds and this meant ONLY Omena had access to the funds in the gofundme account. Of course, we were all hopeful Omena would survive his illness and unfortunately that was no the case.. Since Omena did not appoint a new beneficiary to the funds while he was alive this meant that the funds are now a part of Omena's estate and since his death the account has been placed on hold by Gofundme pending legal verification and confirmation of how the funds will be distributed to the children.

I am pleased to announce that everything has now been verified and Gofundme will release the funds as follows;

1. A solicitor from Talbots Law will be handling the distribution of funds
2. The funds will be going to a client trust account created for Omena's children

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all once again for your patience and your support. I can assure you that all effort was made to make sure that the children receive the funds as was originally intended.

I want to send out a big thank you to all who have donated, prayed and shared the campaign.

When I first started the campaign my friend Omena was still alive having lost his wife Makeda to cancer while battling his own illness. Then the initial goal was set for at just £10,000 but the more people shared the campaign and were moved by this tragic story the donations just came pouring in.

A massive thank you to all those who have asked and offered to care for the children. They are fine and are now being cared for by their by their mother's only brother who relocated his family to Birmingham just so they can all be together and can have continuity with their schools, friends and other aspect of their lives at such a time as this. Also the church and other family members have been very supportive during this time.

Even before Omena passed away he was made the sole beneficiary of the funds and all the funds raised will still go towards the upkeep of the children.

Again I thank you all for the love and support and pray such tragedy never befalls any of you or your family members.

With that I shall now shutdown this campaign.

Much Love.

Unfortunately our worst fears have been confirmed and we now need your donations now more than ever to support the children. No amount is too small as a little streams make mighty Oceans. Thank You
