WHAT IS LIDERAMOS?
We are an alliance of Latino Leadership Programs with a mission of preparing the leadership needed to advance our community and our nation. In short, we want to create a movement of Latino Leaders.
Lideramos was started by a prominent group of Latino Leaders with Juana Bordas serving as president. For more information on our organization, visit Lideramos.org!
WHO ARE OUR INTERNS?
LIDERAMOS has two interns, Amanda Espinoza-Martinez and Francesca Galarraga.
Amanda is a first generation college student at the University of Denver studying business with a minor in leadership studies. Amanda participates in the Colorado Women's College Scholars program, volunteers with Adelante Mujer, a youth leadership program, and is a Daniels Fund Scholar. This opportunity to work with national leaders and programs across the country will help prepare her to make great contributions in the future.
Francesca is a first generation citizen and college graduate who is working on her doctorate at the University of the Rockies and writing her dissertation on Latino leadership. She brings 17 years’ experience to Lideramos having worked in higher education along with Disney. Coming from a Cuban-Chinese family, she has a passion for diversity and is excited to ignite the Latino leadership movement.
WHAT WILL THEY BE WORKING ON?
First we need to know “the state of Latino Leadership.” Amanda and Francesca will work on and promote The First Latino Leadership Program Survey. They will do outreach and connect these programs and offer special events and trainings. To date we have only found 90 programs who serve about 3,000 people. For a community of 57 Million; we need to initiate many more programs especially in communities with growing Latino populations.
WHY DONATE?
In addition to funding two brilliant young Latinas while they learn about leadership and build our movement, contributors will receive a copy of The Latino Leadership Program Survey and have their names listed as supporters!
