Help the Hausman Family Support Kylie in her Recovery:
Kylie Hausman, a 17 Year-old Junior at Citrus Hill HS in Perris, was injured during cheer practice on Jan 18th 2017. Kylie and her squad were doing a "stunt" in which she fell head first to the ground, bending her neck and doing a "scorpion." Her legs hyperflex backwards touching the back of Kylie's head. Originally she had no feeling from the shoulders down(quadriplegic) which eventually has subsided to paraplegia (Waste down). Thankfully it is only affecting her left leg. Kylie currently has no feeling or movement to her left leg after what Doctors are calling a "lumbar plexus injury" Doctors are predicting a long recovery, with extensive rehab and physical therapy. Kylie will most likely have to learn to walk again. Cal-Fire Engine 4 & AMR responded to her accident, transporting her to Riverside Universal Health Systems (old Riv. County Medical Center) and was treated in house until transfer to Loma Linda Acute Rehab Center. Kylie will spend approximately 2 weeks at the center while Neuro Doctors monitor her condition and where she can start the long road to recovery.
The Hausman Family will be very busy attending to and helping Kylie throughout her recovery process. There also will be many expenses the family will face with each step of the recovery process. The goal of this GoFundMe is to help the financial burdon and help the Hausman Family stay focused on Kylie's recovery.
About Kylie & Family:
Kylie is a very active and energetic Junior at Citrus Hill High School who is on the varsity Cheerleading Squad. Besides cheerleading she is on the swim team and is a peer couselor through the "Synergy" program at a school. Kylie maintains a 3.5 GPA and is active in both sports and AP Classes. Kylie's father Jay Hausman is a Captain with San Bernardino County Fire Department and mother Stacey a teacher and cheer coach at Riverside's School for the Deaf.
