Support for Su-maya & Asha

On February 6th, 2018, I was physically attacked, sexually assaulted, and nearly raped. I made an appointment with my physician a few days later to discuss my physical injuries - burns, bruises, and bites, to name a few. One of the bites became severely infected, and after two rounds of (ineffective) antibiotics the infection continued to escalate. I checked myself into the hospital to be treated for what I believed to be a septic infection. During this time of acute recovery, I was unable to work full-time for several weeks.

I have continued to have various complications since February with my physical and mental health. I am still seeing a physician regularly for checkups, attending free therapy sessions at a local nonprofit, and seeking alternative therapies, as well.

However, the largest hindrance to my recovery has been both logistical and financial. I simply have not had the time, energy, or resources to take care of myself as a single mother. I told myself that I was unable to take the time off work that I needed initially because we needed to keep food on the table for myself and my daughter.

After six months of running myself into the ground, by working full-time, single parenting, and managing an intentional homestead community with 7 other people, it has become abundantly clear that it is time for me to take a step back from life and focus on finally, fully recovering.

We are in urgent need of support as I am no longer able to work full-time. We have listed our homestead in Leicester for sale, and hope to be more financially stable after this occurs. In the meantime, we are asking for our community's support to simply keep the basic necessities covered. Your contributions will go towards our mortgage, utilities, and groceries, to name a few.
