On Tuesday, April 30th, our very good friend Paul Taplin who is married with 2 children, was involved in a very serious 2 vehicle accident while on a business trip to Pine Bluff, AR.  Paul was the passenger in a vehicle that was struck by another vehicle on HWY65.  The velocity of the impact was severe enough caused the vehicle that Paul was riding in to leave the roadway.  Paul was transferred immediately to University Hospital in Little Rock, AR and has suffered major trauma including several broken ribs, neck fractures, head trauma, etc.  He is currently stable on a respirator and resting in the ICU.

Paul resides in St. Peters, MO with his wife Karin,  she is a teacher in the Francis Howell School District, his daughter Samantha is in school at Columbia College in Chicago and son Ethan is a Junior at Francis Howell Central.

There has been an amazing number of people that have reached out to see how they can help the Taplin's.   We decided to combine our efforts and create this GoFundMe account to organize and maximize the impact we could have in supporting them through this difficult time.

Paul & Karin are always the people that step up first for anyone in need.  The Taplin family as a whole have dedicated a large amount of their lives to volunteer work within their community, from residing as the current president of the Francis Howell Central High School Hockey Club, building numerous on stage sets for various plays held at local Performing Arts Theaters, as well as spearheading fundraising for other very worthy causes.  I could go on and on....

As we are hoping and praying for Paul’s speedy recovery, the reality is that the expenses will be mounting.  We are asking that folks please pay it forward to this family in their time of need to offset costs due to travel, hotel stays to and from Missouri/Arkansas, medical bills and daily living expenses. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.

Please keep Paul and the entire Taplin Family in your thoughts and prayers.

05/11- All just wanted to pass on an update. First and foremost the Taplin family have been overwhelmed by the outpouring support and generosity expressed by their friends, family, and strangers. To say thank you to everyone is a complete understatement, but THANK YOU!!

Update on Paul- since the accident he underwent a successful 6 hour surgery to fuse his neck fractures and was able to avoid a second surgery that would have added a plate under his ribs. He now has the ventilator removed and is working his way back to real food. The best news of all is that he was finally approved to be transported back to St. Louis. He's not yet at home but at least he is closer to his own zip code!! As of the wee hours this morning, Paul arrived to the facility in St. Charles that will be helping him to continue to get healthy.

Again thanks to you all for your support and your continued support!!
