Over the weekend, Kevin Guin (a former teammate of mine) was jumped, robbed, and brutually attacked while in New Orleans with a group of friends. From the family's updates on social media, Kevin was rushed to the University Medical Center's ICU in New Orleans due to bleeding on the brain, as well as other injuries. Currently, Kevin is still in the ICU but is making progress. The power of prayer is amazing! Please continue to pray for healing- both for Kevin and for his entire family.

With permission from his family, I am setting up this Go Fund Me page to help raise funds in order to subsidize the cost of Kevin's medical expenses and to help cover his family's OOP expenses while they are in New Orleans. 100% of all donations (minus Go Fund Me's mandatory fees) will go directly to Kevin 's family to provide financial relief during this difficult time.

Please share this link with all who might be able to help Kevin and his family at this time. Any support you can provide is very much appreciated!

From Kevin via Facebook:

Today has been a good day. Got permission to take a stroll down to popeye's and eat lunch with pops. Walked the whole way with cane and felt good to get out of these 4 walls. Still not much use of right arm but making more progress daily. Looking forward to next friday where I can wrap my woman and baby in my arms. 6 days and counting every second. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers, keep them coming bc I still need them #GuinStrong

Update: The Guin family sincerely wants to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support! I spoke with Jason today via Facebook and while Kevin is making great strides, he is still in a lot of pain. It looks like he will need to complete at least six weeks of physical therapy in New Orleans before returning to Virginia. Even after Kevin is physically strong enough to return home, he will still have many more months of physical therapy to complete. Unfortunately, this means Kevin will be out of work for an extended period of time and his family left with an exorbitant amount of medical bills to pay.

My heart hurts that Kevin and his family have to go through this right now. However, Kevin is extremely tough and has a strong support network; a network that has grown by the thousands thanks to all of you! Please continue to pray for Kevin and his family and please consider making a donation to help out if you are able. 100% of all donations go directly to Kevin’s family and will help them tremendously. Please continue to share this campaign with everyone you know.
Thank you for the suppport! #progress
