Support for Doug Gunn

Donation protected
Doug Gunn was admitted to Greater Baltimore Medical Center on Tuesday, July 2nd after not feeling well for several weeks. Once in the hospital, he was quickly diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer. When it was determined that treatments would not yield any results, he was moved to Gilchrist Hospice facility on GBMC’s campus on July 9th. It’s a beautiful, relaxing environment, and he is resting peacefully surrounded by family and close friends.

This is a difficult time in his life when he sees the end of the story God has written for him. As a dedicated father of two outstanding young men he, like all parents, worries about their well being as he leaves them way too early in their lives.

Your gift will offer support to Doug in the following ways:

·       Medical expenses

·       Mortgage

·       Accrued outstanding bills while unable to work

·       Support for Sean and Tim

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:

DONATE: If you have the financial ability to donate to assist with remaining expenses for Doug, we know he would be so grateful knowing that his sons did not have to bear his burden.

SHARE: If Doug has ever given you a good laugh, a great conversation, or you have a fond memory of time with him, please leave a comment below. We would love to hear your stories!  We also would encourage you to share the Go Fund Me link with those that know Doug.

We will do our best to keep everyone updated of his status, as well as funeral services, as things progress in the coming days.

HIS IMPACT

To those who have been a part of Doug’s life, whether as a childhood friend, high school buddy, Phi Delta Theta fraternity brother at U of MD, a fellow parent cheering at a lax game or wrestling match, a teammate at work, or a neighbor, you are certain to know him as a giver, an expert at kindness, and a person who always has a good word to make your day better.

Doug’s impact here on Earth has reached many. Some have benefited from his kindness in big ways, others in smaller ways with a simple encouraging word of appreciation from him. He makes no differentiation between folks in high places and people at the bottom of the totem pole. And quite often his greatest pleasure has come from his ‘moments’ of giving, in hopes of making someone else feel worthy, accomplished, and proud of their achievements.

Many of us find it difficult to ask for help, and Doug has been no different. He is always first to step up to the plate to offer his help to others, but he’s now in a position of need for himself and his boys.

Doug’s dedication to Sean and Tim has been full time as they’ve grown. It meant everything to him to drive 5 hours each way to support Timmy on the lacrosse field, as well as his enthusiastic involvement with Sean’s wrestling and sports video endeavors. His boys have been everything to him, and his selflessness with his time and dedication to them financially has remained steadfast throughout their lives.

Doug and the boys extend their gratitude for your financial support, thoughts, and prayers. We as a family are very grateful.
