30799624_1529717210173987_r.jpegOur friend, Eric Durrant on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 19th was in a work place accident. He has suffered serious injuries including broken hip, pelvis and other internal injuries. After six long hours in emergency surgery, Eric has started his recovery in the trauma unit at Hamilton General. Due to the severity of his injuries Eric will be in the hospital for another 2-3 weeks with more surgeries to come, plus 3-4 months of recovery at home.

Eric is strong in spirit. The stress of his injuries/recovery time is more than enough for this young family to deal with, so we, as a group of friends, are hoping that we can get the word out by GoFundMe and social media to help however we can financially.

Your donations will help cover their living and travel expenses, getting the house accessible, childcare as well as help with other expenses for him and his family. Recovery and rehabilitation will be lengthy and costly to the family.

Any amount can help relieve one worry so they can concentrate on Eric’s long road to recovery. If there are other ways you would like to help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you all so much for your generosity, support and love for this wonderful family during this difficult time. Your positive thoughts and prayers for Eric are truly appreciated.

Eric has been transferred to Brantford General early yesterday morning. We are waiting to hear from the doctor in regards to his next surgery which could be in 8-12 weeks. They will continue looking into resources for Eric rehabilitation . Last week Eric was able to go outside with Kahla and Mom(Wendy) to enjoy some fresh air. He is still good good spirits and appreciates all the company he has received during his last few weeks.

On behave of the Durrant Family we would like to Thank every single one of you for your generous donations.

Update :

Eric has been recovering very well. He is still in good spirits and staying positive. He has been removed from the heart monitor and the central line is out because his hemoglobin has stabilized. Right now they still have him on IV but he is able to eat solid foods. We are still waiting to hear the prognosis on the timeframe for his external halo and what surgery is to follow. Today he has been able to sit in a special bed/chair and is enjoying the view at Hamilton General.
