Emily is a single mother of 2, who is battling an aggressive form of breast cancer. After chemotherapy she faces a double mastectomy. Before her diagnosis in April 2018, Emily spent her life savings attending to her aging parents in her home. After their deaths Emily, son (18), and daughter (11) were devastated emotionally and financially.

Emily is a well-respected realtor in Sacramento, CA where she’s worked for 16 years. When her chemotherapy treatments began in early May, Emily no longer had the stamina to continue working and her income plummeted.

Neighbors and friends have rallied to bring dinners to Emily’s family for 10 days during each 3 week chemo cycle since May; have taken her to appointments; taken the kids to practice and hopefully to school when it resumes. Others have helped pay for the kid’s tuition, home maintenance, pet needs and other necessary expenses as they have arisen. But the mortgage, bills, and other living expenses still need to be paid!

Both children have overcome many educational challenges. Emily’s 7ft tall son has been legally blind since birth - but that hasn’t stopped him from playing varsity football and earning honor roll status at Christian Brothers High School. This is possible due to caring school staff and the ability to magnify his assignments on electronic devices.

Emily’s daughter has also thrived when she received specialized, 1:1 instruction at Lindamood Bell School. Despite her dyslexia, asthma, eczema, and severe allergies, she was able to move up 3 grade levels in 3 months. The family would like to get her back to a specialized school like Lindamood Bell where she can continue to grow academically and emotionally.

Help Emily’s family, neighbors and friends continue to support her so she can focus on healing.

Hi all, well I have some good news to share. I’m not out of the “woods” yet but I for sure see the light at the end of this battle! From my operation my lymph node‘s and sentinel node‘s were all tested and the results are very favorable!!! I have another operation end of January that should solidify everything and the cancer has lost!!! Smiles!!! What a wonderful gift for Christmas and to start the new year with!!! I am still healing from my first operation and dealing with brain fog (LOL) and exhaustion from the chemo, and bad neuropathy in my feet and lower legs, but I have lots to be thankful for!!! I would like to ask you for continued prayer and support. I will be trying to go back to work and do as much as I can because financially things are very difficult ... so if you can help financially or if you know a friend or family member who needs to purchase or sell a home ( Smiles) I’m here to help!! Thankyou for sharing this info and big hugs and thankyou for your prayers and love and support!!

Hi all, I wanted to get back to you all how everything went this past weekend. Well the operation went great! I am very tiered and it’s a bit painful ... But wow I think I have the best surgeon’s ever. Smiles. So the operation was about 5.5 hrs. We had a little delay at the beginning but it got all cleared up. Then if you can believe it, I was released the next day on Saturday late afternoon! So the resaults are as follows: l will need another surgery at the end of January. I have an apt with the doctor today to change my dressing and see how things are going. Then later this week I will find out if we got all the cancer ... to see if the limp nodes and other indicators are clear... this will determine if I need any more chemo and radiation... let all pray it’s gone ... I need to get back to being a mom and realtor. Hopefully in the next 2-3 months!!! Smiles. God is so good all the time!!!

Hi all!! Well tomorrow is the big day!! I am having a double mastectomy with reconstruction ( hope that’s not to much info. Lol) tomorrow... hospital at 6:30 and operation is from 9-2. They will also be removing some of the nodes and limp glands to make sure the cancer is gone. If it is I will be back to cooking, cleaning , smiling and laughing more, and selling homes by January some time. If there is signs of cancer, for precautionary reasons I will do more chemo and maybe radiation... wow so crazy ! Oh one other thing I get to start doing if it’s all clear is start growing my hair. Yippy!!! My Kojak look is not my best. So please pray for me and my kids. Thankyou everyone, hopefully I’m at the home Stretch!!! Thanks!!!

Hi everyone! I wanted to give you all a quick update. I had my third "last'' chemo treatment today..... My one lump is completely gone but the second one (larger one) is still hanging on... but the good news is that my body is still responding and the lump is shrinking in half each time. This extra treatment has now delayed surgery by a minimum of 6 weeks and I have a bad cold I have not been able to shake for 10 weeks. Could you all share my link again on your Facebook if you feel comfortable. Finances are getting scary with mortgage and other expenses.
