Support Doug’s Dying Wish 50 State Volunteer Tour

Hi, I’m Doug and I’m on a 50 State Volunteer Tour across America! I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2021. I have been fighting it ever since. In early 2025, I received the devastating news that my cancer was now stage 4 and has metastasized. I have been given 12-18 months to live. I’m naturally a joyful person and not even the reality that I’m dying sooner than most will change that.

I took the news as a call to action and launched my DYING TO SERVE (dyingtoserve.com) 50 STATE VOLUNTEER TOUR in March 2025. I’ve already volunteered for 18 wonderful organizations across 16 states and have driven over 7,500 miles so far! My volunteer mission has been featured in The Washington Post, The Guardian, PEOPLE Magazine, CBC (Canadian Broadcasting), NBC News, and many local TV affiliates (links below).

I need your HELP and SUPPORT to complete my mission to give back with the time I have left! Please consider donating what you can? The money will be used to fund my travel, housing, vehicle, gas, flights to Hawaii and Alaska, medical needs and anything left over will go towards starting the Dying to Serve Nonprofit to inspire and advocate for micro volunteerism (3-4 hours a month). If enough people volunteered just 1 day a month, these wonderful organizations wouldn’t have a shortage of volunteers like they do now.

Unfortunately, due to the broken United States healthcare system, I have spent my life savings just trying to survive these last few years. That’s why I’m asking for your support. I realize it’s a big ask as we all have our own burdens to bear but I truly believe that I can and will do much good with the time I have left.
