Support Avery June!

On 2/20/18, Avery was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. This is a particularily nasty type of brain tumor that is rare and specific to children. The next days and months are going to be challenging for Avery and her family. Her parents are not the type to ask for help, however, as this is for their daughter, they have given me (as a family friend) permission to ask for support on their behalf. Any assistance you are able to give is a help. Assistence will be used to support the activities related to medical treaments and allowing Avery's parents, Mike and Melissa, to be with their child. This includes the cost of treatment expenses to get to treatment as well as other additional items such as lodging. The family also needs finacial assistance as one parent will need to be with Avery leading to loss of wages to support the family.
There may be other ways to support the family, such as making meals or sending food, taking care of pets or watching Avery's younger sister. As we know more, I will update with other ways to help. Melissa and Mike are comfortable with you contacting them directly as well, please be aware it may take longer then normal to respond depending on what is happening that day.
Anyone that knows Avery already understands what a loving and amazing child she is. For those of you reading this that have not met her, here is a little bit about Avery:
Avery foremost is a loving child. She laughs and smiles easily and readily gives affection. She is gentle, she will not even raise her hand when her younger sister is hitting her with a toy. Avery is a sensitive child which leads her to having an increased awareness of other's feelings and the ablility to be empathic. Avery is a rule follower who at a young age already has a strong sense of ethics. She also has an amazing memory and will tell you a story about something that occurred years previously. Avery is a girly girl that also loves to be engaged with the world, even when it is dirty. She loves pink, princesses and Disney characters, reading and learning. Avery also loves to sing and tell stories.
