Support a Librarian during the Government Shutdown

*Featured in the Washington Post, CNN, the CBC, and the BBC*

On January 1st, I listed four antique books from my collection for sale through a Facebook album. I am a librarian who works on a student services contract with the Environmental Protection Agency.  If I don't work, I don't get paid nor may I make up lost time or receive back-pay.  I knew I had to do something at that time to help mitigate the loss. We didn't know how long this shutdown would persist.

On January 2nd, my true love proposed! We are committed to each other 100%, through thick and thin. Even though I am thrilled about the engagement, with the economic uncertainty, I haven't started planning the wedding. I should be giddy and excited. We began the house buying process in December. Now we've put that on hold indefinitely. Banks don't like seeing a zero for income during a whole month!

I agreed to the national media interviews after my Government Shutdown Yard Sale was discovered. I wanted to put a face on the cost for the shutdown. We all have to make tough decisions. I put the initial goal at $1500 because my rent due at February 1st is $1200.  I appreciate any help you wish to give. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/01/10/now-craigslist-facebook-household-items-furloughed-workers-trying-make-ends-meet/?utm_term=.d15dcd0f30e9
