Supertyphoon Lawin Cagayan Relief
We are the Calvo's, Coleman's and Smiths from Guam, Oregon and Nevada and are close friends of residents Jonathan Guiyab Camcam and Joann Camcam in Cagayan Province, a valley at the tip of Northern Luzon, Philippines.
On October 19-20, 2016, the 1,100,000+ people of the Province braved Typhoon Lawin, a Category 5 Super Typhoon, the largest in Philippine history. Although only several casualties have been reported in their area of responsibility, their agriculture, homes and livelihood have suffered much damage, leaving most families huddling together in homes still standing.
As friends watching from afar, we are raising an initial USD $8,000 to purchase generators and tools to clean debris, open more relief centers and begin rebuilding. The province has been in complete darkness and underwater since the onset of the storm. According to officials, steady electricity is not expected for another 8-12 weeks. Potable running water is on the same timeline, as electricity is needed to pump their wells. Cagayan is generally remote - an hour drive from the busy city of Tuguegarao, where demand for goods is high and supply is scarce. Manila is approximately 17 hours drive away.
Funds raised will be used to secure the following:
(6) 2-5 kilowatt Diesel Generators $500-$1,000 each
(2) 8-10 kilowatt Diesel Generators $1,500-$2,500 each
(2) Chainsaws $500
Trucking Services $1,200
Disposable Plates, Bowls and Cutlery for Soup Kitchen Services

For donor accountability, fund process will be as follows:
1. GoFundMe Withdraw from Celda Marie Smith, US account holder
2. Gensets, tools and disposable products will be purchased by John Paul or Anna Calvo in Manila or Guam. Other funds will be transfered to Jonathan Camcam's PH account to purchase local fresh food for soup kitchen.
3. Supplies will be delivered via air (Guam to Manila), private or Army Trucks or Airforce Cargo (Manila to Cagayan) and will be received with acknowledgement receipt by Pastor Jonathan Camcam, Provincial Economic Advisor to the office of the Governor.
