The Avilas have chosen to take Terecita to New Orleans to a world-renown Neurologist . There, Teci will receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy that has helped many other children recover from their brain injuries. The program she needs to enter will require her and her parents to travel to New Orleans and stay for two straight months. Without this care, Teci will need to just “wait and see” if she improves. This just isn’t good enough! Your help is needed. The treatments, the upcoming two months of living expenses out of state, and the already existing medical bills after insurance are beginning to add up. Teci will not be able to go through these treatments without additional financial help. Over the last couple of months the Avilas have witnessed the miracle of prayer and the miracle of people coming together to support their precious Teci. We want to give this family ALL we can to get this little girl all of the help she needs to hopefully, one day, do again the things we take for granted.

See Eden's story, miracles can happen!

Long time Beggars employees Liz and Guillermo Avila went to work, just like any other day On July 18th, 2017. This is when their lives were changed forever! Liz received a call to come home, when she arrived she witnessed her bubbly, fun loving, energetic little 3 year old on the floor with a grape lodged in her throat, lansing paramedics were trying to resuscitate her. They were successful, but she was without oxygen for a long 19 minutes. Tericita was on life support for weeks when the families prayers were finally answered and tericita was able to breath on her own.
TERECITA was then moved into rehab where she is learning things like holding up her head and swallowing so she can be taken off of her feeding tube. Terecita is being released on October 17th and the full outcome is unknown, will she be able to walk and talk, sing and dance again?

We're so happy to be home from Texas but also sad to have left all the great people we got to know. Being accepted into CRIT USA has been one of the best things that could have happened. All the therapists and staff are GREAT. To be in a place that helps all kids with or without insurance is AMAZING. There should be more places like it.

Staying at the Ronald McDonald House was also amazing. We got to meet a lot of families going through the same circumstances as us. The fight their kids show is inspiring. We feel so blessed to be apart of something so incredible.

*PRAYERS NEEDED*
The 1 thing that every doctor that we encountered asked about but had never happened before has happened. My poor baby had 2 seizures yesterday. It could've been that she has been having them and we just didn't know or it could've been that maybe she was coming down with something that caused her to have a fever and that could have caused the seizures. Either way that was very hard for us to watch her go through. Doctors kept mentioning possibly having her put on a ventilator because during the 1st seizure she had stopped breathing. They were afraid she was going to keep having them and she wasn't going to be able to breathe on her own with all the rescue meds they were going to have to keep giving. Luckily she didn't need it.
She hasn't had any since yesterday, but she's also been asleep all day. She is currently on an EEG to hopefully figure out what was causing them. The CT scan showed NO active bleeding in the brain. THANK GOD! Her labs and xrays have also come out ok. So now we're just waiting on the EEG results. I reached out to her main doctor and her neurologist back home and they both say that it's up to Dr Harch to see if she can resume the hbot treatments at discharge. He is also waiting on the results of the EEG.
Even though a part of me wants her to stay and finish treatments because she has been responding so well to them, a bigger part of me wants her to head home and get the proper treatments from her main care doctors for her to stay as healthy as possible. Whatever decision is made I am trusting GOD to lead everyone in making the BEST decision for my #superteci.
