Summer Yukon River Trip

Hey! My name is Cassidy. I am an Environmental Biology student at Plymouth State University in NH. Besides this academic work I have an associates degree in Environmental Science and I'm working on a minor in sustainability.   I was offered an amazing opportunity this summer - to join a roughly three month 2,000-mile paddling trip down the Yukon River. The trip is part of the Bennett-to-Bering photo/video expedition, which will raise funds for first responders in North America and ultimately result in a full-length independent documentary. I'd be joining the trip to help as a production assistant and would be one of several through-paddlers, going all the way from Bennett, British Columbia, through the Yukon Territory and Alaska, and out to the Bering Sea. I am also hoping to do some type of independent study while there to further my education, though I have not yet worked out what that might be. The trip will last approximately 70 days, and is the opportunity of a lifetime! As you can guess, joining an expedition like this is very expensive. Airfare, having food and supplies shipped into the Alaskan bush, equipment costs, etc., will total over $4,000 USD per person.
