Summer Opera Institute for Elizbeth Hanje

UPDATE: We have reached our goal! Additional funds raised will go toward Elizabeth’s continued training, fees for upcoming competitions, and expenses for college auditions. We are so blessed by your support - thank you!

Elizabeth Hanje is a rising senior at Vestavia Hills High School in Birmingham and an aspiring opera singer with a warm, expressive voice that is far richer than many singers her age. At age 17, she has only been studying classical vocal technique for two years, but has already won many competitions at the state and regional level.

Elizabeth has been selected for one of the nation’s most prestigious summer programs for young singers, the Washington National Opera’s Summer Opera Institute.
The cost of this program is $3,200 plus competition and accompanist fees, airfare, etc. This three-week program takes place June 24-July 14 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth will also be participating in the Schmidt Vocal Competition the weekend before the program starts.

Due to a car accident that resulted in a total loss of vehicle and significant loss of income, Elizabeth and her family need help raising the remaining funds. This program will make a life-changing difference in her college and early career path in the opera world. As
Elizabeth‘s voice teacher, I know how hard she works, and I want to ensure that she can take advantage of this amazing opportunity. Thank you for your help!
