Sully's emergency bills

Donation protected
Two weeks ago, starting on Sunday the fourth of June, I noticed my cat, Sullivan, acting strange. He appeared to be trying to potty on the floor and was walking in a strange way. I wasn't sure what to do so I called his vet and she suspected it was urinary blockage and to take him to the emergency clinic immediately.

I got him checked in that evening and received a phone call that night, he was indeed blocked and they were able to get a catheter in to unblock him. He was then transferred to the clinic where he stayed until Friday afternoon, the ninth.

However, he was still walking painfully and would not eat. I gave him his medicine but he seemed to only be getting worse. I called the clinic and they were able to see him immediately the following Monday morning.

They were unable to insert the catheter as they thought a swelling was blocking it. So over the next few days they manually extracted the urine with a syringe while boosting his system so he would heal. They attempted the catheter again but it was discovered that he had a tear in his urethra that the catheter was catching on. The doctor said if he doesn't pull through then he would have to be put down.

They continued the treatment and manual extraction until finally yesterday the 16th he started to use the litterbox! But being cautious of last time we decided he should stay another night just to give him that bit of extra time.

Saturday the 17th I was finally able to bring him home, he's happily eating, drinking, and using the litterbox! He's back to his cuddly self and I am beyond relived that he is okay.

He is my dependency companion for my depression, and was always there for me. This time in his time of need, I am glad I was there for him.

However as with most things, these treatments were not cheap. I maxed out my care credit at $800 and the remaining will be in monthly payments. However I am not financially prepared for this burden, any assistance would be welcome in order to assist me paying these bills off as soon as possible.

His new diet for the rest of his life is going to be food designed to assist the bladder, he has taken a liking to the canned prescription diet 'Urinary Care' c/d multicare for stress.

He also loves all kinds of cat toys but isn't into treats. Above all he loves to be held and cuddled.

Sully is my world, and I would be devastated if I were to fail him.

Thank you.
