Substation Wildfire Relief Fund
Donation protected
On Tuesday July 17th, Wasco and Sherman County communities began battling the fast-spreading Substation Fire threatening their livelihood. It was, at one point, designated the top fire priority for the entire nation (link) with over 70,000 acres burned, impacting small rural farming communities across the region. This campaign will help fund recovery for people whose lives have been impacted by the fire and could use a helping hand.
All of the funds raised will be distributed directly to fire related victims in need of basic necessities such as groceries and transportation. Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. (GOBHI) , a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3), has kindly volunteered to help coordinate activities.
Assistance will be made available as funding emerges on a case-by-case basis for those residents in and around the cities of Rufus, Wasco, Moro and Grass Valley. Please contact the following for details -
* Jeff Holiday (Rufus)
* Jerry Krewson (Wasco)
* Carey Hughes (Moro)
* Joe Burgess or Aly Sedlock (Grass Valley)
* Mike Smith (County)
This effort has been organized by members of the Sherman High School graduating class of 1984 with much appreciated help from GOBHI.
