Our little fangtooth had some big adventures without us over the last 24 hours! The sub was tied up to a public launch ramp while our team was working on repairing her trailer and some brave but reckless person decided to steal her and take her for a joyride! She was picked up by the Emeryville police department, towed to shore, transported with heavy machinery and put in an impound lot at a cost of $2,000. 

She also suffered damage to the hatch and ports, as well as a lot of external damage to the paint and hull. 

To bail her out of submarine jail and get her diving again will cost around $5,000, which also includes the unexpected expense of the trailer repairs. We really appreciate your generosity and hope she will be able to bring joy to everyone again very soon!
