Hi guys. I need to ask you all a favour and I couldn't find any other way to do it. I've written this over and over and rewritten and rewritten.
It's said that pride comes before a fall, well I'm not prepared to fall. I need your help.
My mum is ill. Very seriously ill, and I need to get home as soon as humanly possible. Put simply I don't know how long the timeframe is for me getting home. I could be wrong but I fear the worst and I could be running out of time. I don't want to put on this page exactly what is wrong because I want her privacy respected, but you need only ask me in person or via message for what is exactly wrong. You would then realise just how desperate I am that I've resorted to crowdfunding my flights home.
I know this might sound greedy. After all, I work full time, why can't I just pay for them myself? The problem is that I still have a family and responsibilities - rent, bills etc. I am saving hard, but it's a question of time. I fear if I just don't manage to get the money together soon the very worst could happen. I can't let that happen. My father died when I was six years old and I was raised by my mother alone. She was both of my parents rolled into one. I have lived overseas for three and a half years, and I need to make sure I get to see her. I am so very very desperate.
I'm also hindered by a weaker currency - the longer I take to save the more expensive my flights become. It's jumped hundreds of dollars in mere months, and the longer I delay the worse it's going to get.
I will be grateful for ANYTHING I recieve. I'm not expecting to get anywhere close to the figure I stated - that is purely the cost of a return flight to the UK, and the price of a residency return visa so I can re-enter Australia as I come back. Whatever I get, if anything, will be used entirely for the trip and any extra expenses I incur. Please please PLEASE, do not feel obligated.
