Oklahoma consistently ranks among the worse states for hunger in the nation!
Filling Tummies provides healthy fruits and vegetables to the 1 in 4 children who would otherwise go to bed hungry in Oklahoma. Our free “mobile market” pulls up right behind the school buses immediately after school allowing kids to grab a bag and pick up fruits and veggies to take home something to munch on. They are also encouraged to graze the inside of the bus which holds staples to fill them up for the overnight & weekend hours.
Help Given During Teacher Walk-Out
During the spring teacher walk-out, more attention was drawn to the fact that children in Oklahoma may not have food to eat during the days when they are not in school, but the truth is, these same kids struggle with hunger year-round, at night, and on weekends.
We couldn’t standby and do nothing letting these poor kids go hungry after understanding that numerous children who are our neighbors & possibly our children’s friends are starving. You don’t have to see kids skin and bones to understand they are suffering. Oklahoma statistics for both hunger & education are ALWAYS in the bottom rankings in the Nation, but why? Our Kids are vulnerable and at risk for starvation and strongly believe this problem is fixable!

Who Are We?
Filling Tummies is comprised of everyday people in the community who saw a need and decided to take action. We are a group of people who understand hungry people don’t only look like what we see on TV, but everyday Oklahomans who are potentially our neighbors, family and friends.
We are the same as you...
•We lead busy lives, working, going to school, dinners, doing weekend chores and activities
•We have big caring hearts
•We thought basic needs were being met
•We didn’t know so many Oklahomans were truly suffering
•We are willing to do something instead of nothing
•We believe, together, we can make big changes happen
Children may feel forgotten, but we have the power to turn that around for them, but we need your help! We are launching our STUFF the BUS campaign to buy healthy food for the bus. The proceeds from the campaign will be exclusively directed towards the purchase of food for the mobile market and given away free of charge to those in need. We are all volunteers so the funds go towards meeting the needs, not salaries.
