Strong for NeNe

Talk about life happens... my 27-year old niece, Shyniqua Gray aka NeNe,  recently went to the doctor after discovering a lump. She was told the news that no one wants to hear. She has an aggressive form of triple negative breast cancer in stage 2-3. The good news is that it can be curable with treatment. The unfortunate news is she is not eligible for FMLA or short disability until January 2019. With this aggressive form of cancer, there is no time to delay so chemotherapy was started. However, she has to travel over an hour to treatment, her insurance does not cover all medical expenses and medications and there is difficult meeting basic needs as she frequently has to miss work.  Just this week, she was advised medically to not work for the next 8 weeks due to increased chances in getting an infection. This leaves her with limited options has she has a 6 year son and a disabled mother with multiple illnesses that she cares for.  NeNe has been strong through this whole process but the above stressors make it difficult to focus on recovery.  We know that some things aren’t meant to be carried alone and ask for your support.
