#STRIKEBACK SUICIDE APP
Donation protected
After losing my son to suicide on June 19th, 2015 I dedicated my life advocating for the mentally ill. My son lost his battle with depression and as his father I carry the guilt of not noticing the signs. After my son's death we had a rash of juvenile suicide death in Cincinnati. I learned that the one thing these kids were missing was a connect to a community support group. I'm developing an app called #STRIKEBACK to give kids and young adults necessary tools to battle this debilitating disease. #strikeback gives the user a direct connection into their own community support group and reminds them of their core values in life. The app sends a text message to three categories you set up in your profile. Category 1 is spiritual. You can place two phone numbers that will contact a pastor or spiritual leader. The next is family and the final is friend. After your community group receives the text explaining your current struggle with suicide or depressive thoughts they will also get a GPS location directing them to you. Once the text have gone out an automatic slide show will appear on your phone showing pic you uploaded of your loved ones, family, or friends reminding you that there is a reason for living.
