Strength For Trayce's Journey

Donation protected

November 15, 2003 Trayce was born to the proud parents, Wendy and Bill.  He was a beautiful healthy baby, weighing 5 lbs and 3 oz.  Wendy had suffered from toxemia causing her to go into premature labor at 36 wks of pregnancy.  Only 3 days later Wendy and Bill were able to  take Trayce home.  He weighed 5 lbs at that time.  The next several months were great.  Everything seemed to be perfect!  There were times of concerns because of the delay in Trayce reaching developmental milestones.  Trayce did not sit up on his own until about 9 months old and he did not walk until about 18 months old.  At first these delays were thought to just be due to premature birth.  However, things didn't get any better.
At 1 year old Trayce delveloped RSV.  Going forward he was in and out of the hospital with pneumonia.
Trayce did not say his first understood word until age 4.  He was around 6 years old when other people started understanding him.   At 4 years old he began to develop issues with his eyes.  Also, at that time Trayce started having horrible migraines and what were believed to be seizure episodes.  Over the past 8 years Trayce has seen numerous doctors and has been referred to several specialists.  Trayce has gone completely blind twice for about 4 hours each time.  All of this still could not be explained by any of the doctors.  They were told to have Trayce wear a hat and sun glasses at all times when he was outdoors.  Thinking that it would help decrease the migraines and the issues with his eyes.  Today Trayce is 11 years old.  He is in the 5th grade.  He struggles with his reading skills and other learning abilities as well.  But he still loves to be in school.  However, he can barely make it through a full day due to the headaches, eye issues, and stomach pain.
After all these years a Dr. has finally given a diagnosis for all of the unexplained issues that Trayce has been experiencing .   Trayce has a rare Mitochondrial Syndrome.  There is no cure and the outcome is fatal.  Trayce has been referred to a Dr named Sumit Parikh at a Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.   Where Trayce can receive treatment to prolong and improve the quality of his life.  Also, the parents can hopefully find answers to many questions.
I am asking for donations to help pay for the travel expenses! Any extra funds will be used to take Trayce to special events while he is still physically able to.
