Mounting Our Masters Exhibit
Hello World!
We are a team of graduate students at University of Toronto in the final year of our Masters of Museum Studies program. To complete our degree we are producing an exhibition titled Strength behind the Grace, opening this Spring 2016 in the MacDonald Heaslip Walkway of Theatre History at Hart House Theatre.
This project is our chance to prove to ourselves and to you that not only are we capable in creating innovative and fun exhibitions, but reaffirming that this is what we are meant to do with our lives. As emerging museum professionals, we seek to create emotional experiences that inspire audiences to take action.
Our inspiration for this exhibition was seeing the professional ballet dancer as an athlete from the perspective of physical fitness and wellness. It explores techniques and strategies used by professional dancers for their physical conditioning, as well as healthy lifestyle practices including food and nutrition.
We believe this exhibition project can promote dance as a growing resource that supports many community wellness initiatives. We need your help to make this exhibit happen! You can help people dance their way to a healthier life. You can help us earn our degrees. We are truly grateful for your support - it will make a big impact!
