Stratford Nationals Baseball

Stratford "Indians" no more.  Stratford Minor Baseball, in Stratford, Ontario is proud to announce that we have changed our name to the Stratford "Nationals".

We are an organization of over 500 players aged 5 - 21 and growing.  We have a proud tradition dating back to 1948.  However, we realize that our name was hurtful and disrepectful to the Indiginous community which deserves the outmost respect.

Along with teaching this great game of baseball, we also have a responsibility to teach our players respect for the game, respect for themselves and respect for others.

We also realize that this is more important than any name or tradition.  We are proud to follow in Alvinston's footsteps and make the change now.

Unfortunately, change is expensive.  We need to cahnge our jerseys, hats, equipment, signage, website and much much more.  We aniticpate that the costs will excede $30,000.

We have decided that our orgnization and it's participants should cover some of the cost themselves.  This will be in the form of a registration fee increase.  However, we want to be very careful to ensure we continue to make baseball affordable to everyone.

We are trying to raise $15,000 in order to keep the cost of registration as low as possible.  We appreciate any help we can get!

For more sponsorship opportunities, please go to our website:  www.stratfordminorbaseball.ca.  Our new website opens Tuesday, November 22nd.
