STMP Refugee camp youth campaign

Season of the Time Media Productions STMP is a non-profit film project located in Kakuma Refugee camp in Kenya that gives hope to hundreds of unaccompanied minors at risk of substance abuse through idleness and living with trauma.
We need your help to raise funds to extend the learning hub and purchase more equipment as the number of students rises every day.
This project offers free training in Video editing, Camera operations, Script writing, Computer skills and Sound engineering, enables them to tell their own stories through making films and taking photos, producing music and other creative fun activities to those in the refugee camp and prepares them for future employment outside the camp. Many students are showing great talent which is really exciting seeing the improvement in their lives. 
STMP gives hope and joy and a reason to get up every day in a place where there is so little.

My name is Jean-Michel Batakane. I started this project in 2011 in Kakuma Refugee camp after personally experiencing hardship in the camp and noticing a high risk of drug abuse and suicide due to the idleness and living with trauma. After graduading from a film school, I wanted give other young people a chance to learn new skills and be part of something positive in a safe environment. I now live in Australia and the project is still run by students I trained and continue to guide from a far.
