Steven's Road to Recovery

Friday June 21, 2019 was a day that changed Steven’s life forever. As Steven and 5 of his friends rode in a line along Furnace Rd in Lorton, VA. Steven and his friends came across two consecutive turns at which the second person in the line lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected into the woods nearby causing him a broken arm and leg, fortunately he is stable recovering at home. Steven on the other hand wasn’t so lucky.
Steven was the last rider in the group and as he approached that same turn, he too lost control of his motorcycle and became pinned between the bike and guardrail causing major injuries to his right leg. Steven was rushed to Fairfax Hospital ICU. Due to the severity of the injury Steven had to undergo varies surgeries as an attempt to save his life and his leg. Unfortunately, his right leg had to be amputated. As of now, Steven is not aware of what has happened to him and he is still battling an infection. He is currently in an induced coma and is surrounded by family and loved ones.
During this trying time, we are very grateful that Steven is with us but we know the fight is far from over. Prior to this accident Steven was full of love and life, he had plans of getting married and starting his own family but now his fiancé, mother and brother have had their world turned upside down. Once Steven is on the road to recovery, we will need to be able to provide him with everything possible to aid him. Unfortunately, Steven does not have health insurance and already the medical expenses are quickly accumulating.
At this time, we are asking for help, Steven needs all the prayers and financial support so we can get him through this very difficult time. El viernes 21 de junio de 2019 fue un día que cambió la vida de Steven para siempre. Mientras Steven y 5 de sus amigos viajaban en fila a lo largo de Furnace Rd en Lorton, VA. Steven y sus amigos se encontraron con dos curvas consecutivas en los que la segunda persona en la línea perdió el control de su motocicleta y fue expulsada al bosque cercano, lo que le causó una fractura en el brazo y la pierna, afortunadamente, se está recuperando en su casa. Steven, por otro lado, no tuvo tanta suerte.
Steven fue el último piloto del grupo y cuando se acercó a ese mismo turno, también perdió el control de su motocicleta y quedó atrapado entre la bicicleta y la barandilla causando lesiones graves en la pierna derecha. Steven fue llevado al hospital de Fairfax en Terapia Intensiva (ICU). Debido a la gravedad de la lesión, Steven tuvo que someterse a varias cirugías como un intento de salvar su vida y su pierna. Desafortunadamente, su pierna derecha tuvo que ser amputada. A partir de ahora, Steven no está al tanto de lo que le ha ocurrido y todavía está luchando contra una infección. Actualmente se encuentra en un coma inducido y está rodeado de familiares y seres queridos.
Durante este difícil momento, estamos muy agradecidos de que Steven esté con nosotros, pero sabemos que la lucha está lejos de terminar. Antes de este accidente, Steven estaba lleno de amor y de vida, tenía planes de casarse y formar su propia familia, pero ahora su prometida, su madre y su hermano han tenido su mundo al revés. Una vez que Steven esté en el camino hacia la recuperación, tendremos que poder brindarle todo lo posible para ayudarlo. Desafortunadamente, Steven no tiene seguro médico y ya los gastos médicos se están acumulando rápidamente.
En este momento, estamos pidiendo ayuda, Steven necesita todas las oraciones y apoyo financiero para que podamos superar este momento tan difícil.
