I live in White Salmon, and I work and snowboard at Mount Hood Meadows.
A local skier went missing off expert terrain on one of the deepest pow days of this season. Inclement weather is creating extreme avalanche danger for search crews.
We don't know what the future holds for this man and his family. I can't begin to imagine what this has done for their lives, but I want to reach out to them with any assistance we can raise here.
One of his family members will be the sole beneficiary through the GoFundMe website. The funds will then be given to the volunteer crews searching in some of the worst weather conditions we've experienced this winter (ice, sideways rain, blistering wind, and wet heavy snow).
To all the passionate riders frequenting our beautiful mountain home: We are family. Thank you for coming together during this tragedy.
