Steph's Breast Cancer Fight

Donation protected
UPDATE 29/05/2017
On behalf of Steph and I, we would like to thank all the people who have donated money into Steph's Fight Against Breast Cancer fund. As you can imagine we are absolutely mind-boggled by the amount of money that has been received, as we have now doubled the original target.
Whilst Steph awaits the start of her chemotherapy she has had a barrage of tests, surgery and appointments to endure. On Wednesday, she will have a permanent chemo port put in, in preparation of her upcoming intensive chemo treatment.
Stephanie's story will appear in this week's Leader Newspaper. Spare a couple of minutes to read through her story and you will also see links to a Fun Run at Lilydale Lake on Sunday 18th June at 10:00 am.
Stephanie has already received over $20,000 of the Gofundme money and this has helped her enormously in paying off some of the hefty bills she has already incurred.
Again, we would like to thank you for your ongoing support, love and well wishes and we hope to see you wearing pink at Lilydale Lake on Sunday the 18th June, 2017.

On May 15th, 2017, we found out that our dear friend and work colleague, Stephanie Murphy was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. This has come as a total shock to her family and friends as we try to come to terms with her diagnosis and upcoming treatments. What we know is that her prognosis is positive and we have no doubt she will come through this fight stronger than ever. With that said, the road ahead over the next few months will definitely be a challenge. Stephanie will undergo treatment almost immediately to deal with the malignant tumour. The treatment plan will include chemo, surgery and medications which will be determined based on findings during tests and treatments on Friday 19th May, 2017.

The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is challenging. Steph is only 22 years of age and is one of the most fun-loving, bravest, healthiest and fittest people we know, this will strongly go in her favour. Unfortunately, Steph’s family medical history is not positive, as she sadly lost her mother to breast cancer in 2007.

I am sure that everyone who knows Steph will agree that she needs and deserves our love and support more than ever. The medical bills are already coming in and will continue to add up; therefore we are reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help in any way. Every donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to Steph over the next few months.

Steph has lost her mother and is one of the main carers for her father who has kidney failure and needs daily dialysis. She is a child care work on a minimum wage and money will be a major factor that will bring added stress during Steph’s fight.

The money raised will go towards;

Surgery and medical treatment costs (chemo, medications, surgical procedures, medical appointment costs etc)
Procedures to help Steph’s fertility from the harms and toxicity of chemotherapy
Bills and expenses that will add up whilst Steph is out of work.
Unanticipated costs that will come along during this battle.

Thank you for reading and considering Steph’s hard road ahead. We will really appreciate any donation no matter the size.

If at the end of Steph’s treatment there is surplus money, all funds will be donated to help other women in their fight against cancer.

Thank you x
