Stephen Lane Tsv Campaign
I have been a Townsville local for my entire 35 years and having grown up here, I have a particular passion for the city I have called home for so long.
Last November, my house was broken into and damaged. The news covered this extensively and I was thrust into the eyes of the Townsville public as a victim of a crimewave that we were getting to feel very used to at the time. It was still a huge shock and since that night, we have witnessed an increasingly large amount of violence and crime.
April saw me being attacked in my own driveway by a large group of criminals acting as thugs. They were from a housing commission house that is known to the police as being a hotspot for criminals. One officer explaining to me that he was aware of the house as being home to some of the current car thieves getting around Townsville.
I was taken to hospital several times following the attack and my injuries were significant.
Despite having a list of 22 injuries including 2 fractures to my back and struggling to walk for weeks, I went through a painful rehabilitation and I have made the decision to put my name forward as an independent candidate for the State Seat of Townsville.
I believe that as an Independent, I can be a strong voice for our community and I will be. Everyone that knows me or knows of me knows that I am never silent when it comes to issues that affect the community and I will be a strong voice for all of the community.
I am centred politically. I take each issue on its merits and I plan to listen to the community and reflect that in Brisbane.
I will be a voice that the big parties will have to listen to.
I am asking for your support to help me get my campaign out to the people.
