Cycle for a Cause- Cairo to Cape

Hi!

My name is Stephanie, some of you may know me, some of you may not. For those of you who don't I am passionate, highly driven & fairly transient :). 

I am in the process of preparing to embark on an extraordinary journey that will help me raise awareness and funds for an incredible organization called Africa Yoga Project (AYP) . 

Thus far in my life I have had the honour to live abroad and travel throughout Africa. For the last 4.5 years I lived in Kenya working for a social enterprise called Me to We. Being as nomadic as I am 4.5 years was quiet long but allowed me to create some roots in a place I now consider my second home. This is how I learned about AYP. 

Africa Yoga Project, in an all inclusive community of yoga enthusiasts that creates jobs across Kenya, and has empowered over 6,000 individuals. Weekly they host a free community class at their Shine Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, among many other outreach classes.

About 1 year ago I started attending the community classes at the Shine Centre. I never imagined the impact that it would have on me.

Indulge me for a second..

Imagine 200 people of all colors, ages, sizes and levels in one room side by side practicing yoga.  1 inch between your matt and the persons' next to you. At the 30 min mark of the class, when you are literally dripping with sweat, not ony beacuse of the workout but because of the positive energy in the room, you feel like you can't continue. The stranger next to you, says keep on going or grins at you to encourage you to continue. This was the type of community I wanted to be a part of, and was a part of. 

This class literally transformed me in the short time I was involved, and now I want to help give back AYP & help AYP reach others throughout Kenya.  

In order to raise money for their deaf & hearing impaired programming I will be cycling (thats right you heard me.. on a bike!!) from Cairo to Cape town, about 12,027km, starting Jan 2016. 

This is where you come in. Can you help me get there? I am asking for sponsorship for my trip and proceeds for AYP. Proceeds of all your donations will go towards AYP programming, and allow this incredible organization to spread its wings further and further to empower more individuals across the continent.
