Staying in My Apartment

MY STORY
Hi, my name is Laura. On August 6th of this year I left an unhealthy relationship. Before I took the leap of departure I met with a financial counselor to develop a
budget. I wanted to live in a way that I could afford and know what I fiscally had to work with. I secured myself an apartment within my budget.
I was working full time at that time. Life was going well. On October 6th, I passed out at my job. I wound up in a local hospital. Since that point in time I have not been back to work. I was diagnosed with a condition under the Dysautonomia umbrella. The condition is neuro-cardiogenic syncope (NCS). In layman's terms this means that I can't regulate my own blood pressure. I am hypotensive (low blood pressure).
When my blood pressure is low, I pass out. I am not able to stand for any extended periods without passing out.

Since I saw my cardiologist, one week after I passed out at my job, I applied for short-term disability (STD). This has been a heinous struggle. I see the doctor almost on a weekly basis. We having been trying and adjusting meds weekly, to no avail. I now have appointments with specialists for their input and help. On Friday, December 9th, I received a denial from STD. My
denial is based on "medical insufficiency". According to the STD company I do not have a condition that qualifies me for disability. This is contrary to what my physician contends. I have begun the process to appeal. I have secured a lawyer to help with this. I give this background to set the foundation for my request. The last payroll that I received was on October 7th. I have a home that I need to pay for in order to keep. I am unable to do that. I know that even if I win the appeal I will not make rent for January. I am asking for any help that can be given to me.

It boils down plain and simple, I do not want to lose my home. My rent is $890.00 a month. I am asking for $2,000.00 This would allow me to have January and February paid for. The idea of paying for February is just to give me a cushion in case the appeal takes longer.

I am humbled and appreciative for any and all help that is given to me.
I look forward to being able to pay it forward when I am able. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
