Support the Staunton Family

Donation protected

Let's join together to support the Staunton Family.  As some of you know, the Staunton family is experiencing a very difficult time with their son at MGH after a tragic accident. The family is just embarking on what will be a long road ahead that will require Jess and Jay to be at the hospital with Dominic.

So many of you are asking how to help - here is one way.  We would like to provide the family with as much support as possible in helping with childcare, errands, laundry, cleaning, rides and all the "little" things that will collectively really make a difference.  This will allow us to take some of the daily/weekly household tasks off of their plates and let them focus as much as they can on helping Dominic.

Thank you for your support!

Help spread the word!

5/22 update from Jess and Jay:
Dear Friends,

Dom's recovery continues and has entered a new phase. We have thankfully moved past the immediate crisis and are now beginning to focus on injury management. Today was very encouraging. He had moments of wakefulness when he showed us his strength. His nurses and doctors have all commented on how feisty he is -- his true colors are showing!

Tomorrow is a big day for him: we will assess one of his injuries while approaching extubation. His physical durability is evident. Once he is awake, there will be an entirely new set of challenges relating to therapy and broader transition.

We have started an "updates" webpage that we will try to refresh daily. Please feel free to share this link with others.

It's really overwhelming to think about the collective response we have received from our community. At some point, we will have time to let sink in what an incredible amount of support we are receiving from you, and to thank you properly. In the meantime, know that everything you are doing is helping us immensely -- and making it easier to continue our focus on Dom's recovery and helping Mary Linda through this, too.

With gratitude and love,
Jess and Jay

This campaign was set up by Erin Gallo, a Wellesley resident and a Saint John School parent, two communities of which the Staunton family is also part. The funds raised will be used for Dom's hospital bills and continued therapies. The Staunton family will be granted authority and withdrawals rights for these funds.
