Startup for dog rescue

Donation protected

In February of 2016 my three beloved dogs were poisoned by my neighbor, Billy Martin. Martin was convicted of three felony counts of animal cruelty, and one count of perjury related to the trial, his sentencing for these crimes was minimal at best. I vowed to honor the memory of our lost pets by fighting for animals in need. I have, since, fostered and successfully rehomed 9 dogs and 3 cats. I am the proud owner of three amazing rescue dogs and one rescue cat, each with their own unique personality. I have had a passion for animal welfare since my childhood, raising dogs, cats, chickens, a goat, and even an opossum. In high school I spent two semesters studying equine care, and have been dog sitting, training, fostering, and rehoming dogs for the majority of my adult life. My dream has always been to operate a rescue, and after purchasing a 15 acre farm in Virginia, that dream is finally within reach. I am asking for donations to help cover the legal fees and other startup expenses for this nonprofit organization. I have spent my own money and time preparing my property physically for this endeavor, and we are almost ready to open our rescue. The legal fees associated with this process are estimated around $900, and we will need to be prepared for vet visits, food, and other expenses. Any help is appreciated, and donations of material goods (food, bedding, collars, credits to our veterinarian, toys etc...) can be arranged by email - [email redacted] .

(I sobbed like a baby after putting these articles together, it is still horrifying to think about what these three members of our family went though before being euthanized. We can only hope to see something good come from their deaths. Please help us honor our sweet furbabies by saving the lives of so many more.)

If you are wondering why we want to take animals into our own home instead of allowing them to go to shelters, please read the following articles.
