Starting Over in Oslo: Expenses

Hello there, I am Anders and I am attempting to raise money to relocate to the capital city of Norway, Oslo, to seek a better life for myself and my pets.

Recent events have made it difficult to live in my town, and sooner or later I need to move out from my apartment because I cannot afford the rent. I have two jobs, but sadly they don’t pay enough to cover the expenses here, and finding new jobs is difficult due to the large scale of unemployment here and in the neighboring cities. And believe me, I’ve tried.

I’ve already contacted the employment agency, and I do believe they will help me find a new job, but that will take time, time I don’t have much of. I’ve also contacted the welfare office and asked what kind of aid they can help me with, but there are no guarantees that they can help me out, and even If they can it might take months before I hear anything.

My plan is to move to Oslo before summer 2018, where I can start a new and better life to get on my feet again and follow my dream to eventually get an education so I can become a social worker to help young people to get on their feet and give them a better future.

However, moving to another city is expensive, so is settling down. Therefore, it brings me a bit of pain and relief to call out for help in this manner. I have never been the type to ask for help like this, I must be honest and say that it is strange, unnerving, difficult yet humbling. But people have recommended that I do to get on track.

What I need is money to pay 3 months of house rent for this apartment (22 500 kroner), then create a deposit for whatever apartment I can find in Oslo (30 000 kroner, but may vary depending of much the house rent is), as well as paying for at least one or two house rents for the new apartment till I can stand on my own legs. I also need to pay for transporting my furniture and other things (8000 kroner), which cost a lot. But if I find an apartment with appliances, then I will sell what I have if I get the chance. I also need to make sure I find an apartment that doesn’t cost a lot either. Size doesn’t matter, but it’s important for me to be able to have my pets there.

I’m grateful for any help you can give, and should there be any leftovers after all expenses are paid then I will use it to help the homeless in Oslo, and donate to charity.
