Start a Food Pantry in East Gainesville!

$4,915 of $8,000 goal

Raised by 57 people in 1 month
Created May 21, 2019
Responding to the lack of grocers and inexpensive food options in East Gainesville , the Gainesville Vineyard is raising start up funds to launch a regular, permanent food pantry this September, housed at the Vineyard church  campus (The Bridge) in Lincoln Estates. Start up funds are needed to purchase refrigeration, shelving, and initial food stocks.  Donations are tax deductible and will make a huge difference in an area where food security is a daily concern for many. Please feel free to contact us with questions or to ask for more information! Thank you for your generous donation! Don't forget to subscribe! We'll update this campaign regularly.

Hi, all. You may have noticed we added 'Theresa Williams' as a beneficiary of this campaign. I just wanted to post here that Theresa is the bookkeeper for the Gainesville Vineyard. She is the one drawing out funds and ensuring they are used for food pantry purposes. Just thought that deserved an explanation!

Thanks again for donating and please continue to encourage others to do so. The support we've been getting from the Gainesville community and press has been really humbling.

We have already started purchasing shelving and we'll have an update on that next week!

We are more than a third of the way there! And we're really grateful for everyone who has shared and donated. Let's keep it going!

We also just wanted to make sure you saw the local CBS 4 news story and the Gainesville Sun story about these efforts and the difference you're making. Here are the links. Feel free to share them!
