Saint Anne's Cathedral HCOD is a place where we marry our young and bury our old. We are here to lead, teach, help, encourage, be that listening ear or that sholder to cry on, irregardless of race, disability, money, or gender.
A little history on our church:
St. Anne’s Cathedral Holy Church of Deliverance was founded by the late Pastor Anne R. Gordon in 1988. After starting a bible study and prayer service in her home in 1987, she established St. Anne’s and was incorporate in October 1988. The first service was held at 1126 West North Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.
We went from building to building, with faith that we'd eventually secure a permanent home and finally, November 2001, God blessed us with a church located on 5831 West Burleigh Street in Milwaukee, WI.
After many years of dedicated service, it pleased our almighty God to call our beloved Pastor
from labor to reward on December 2006.
Elder Harman Copeland and Mother Essie Copeland were elected Pastors of St. Anne’s Cathedral Holy Church of Deliverance in January 2007 and until this present day.
Currently, we have had many problems maintaining our mortgage and utlilies, but the biggest, most expensive problem being our roof. We've had several fundraisers where we've raised enough to put a down payment to get the roof fixed, but I wasn't enough to cover the entire cost which we are now paying $360 monthly on the remainder of our loan.
It costs approximately $3,500 monthly to maintain our church and it is our great desire to be debt-free, but for now, if we could get a head start, it would be great.
We currently have a college fund started for each of our youth members that upon graduating high school, we give to them to help with college costs. We encourage our youth to be better and to do better.
As our membership increases, so do the needs of our church. It is our desire to give back to the community with different youth activites such as after school programs , drivers ED and summer activies. We'd like to also have adult programs like AODA, job training and resume building classes, interview workshops and programs for our elderly.
Our youth seem to be dying more than our elderly and we want to make sure that they are able to have a niced homegoing. So funds will also be put toward a homegoing fund where we would assist families who are less fortunte and have lost a loved one to an unfortunte event, so we can assist with funeral costs and costs for the family.
Donations do not have to be monetary. We welcome clothing donations, non-perishable food donations, technology donations, if you have a skill that you are willing to teach such as interview ettiqutte or any skills (computer, singing, playing instruments, resume building, etc.) please let us know. We also welcome your presence at our church, or just kind, encouraging words.
We are not a mega-church. We are a small local, community based organization. Your support would mean the world to us and our community.
