Greetings! We are Standard Electric Co. We're opening a brand new recording and design studio in Decatur, GA, and we're opening January 2017.
We're thrilled to have purchased a commercially zoned property on Memorial Drive, but buying property isn't cheap, and we've already made tons of upgrades to the gear we use everyday. We're reaching out and asking for a little help with the buildout, so that our doors are (actually) swinging on January 1st!
We've been entrepreneurs for a long time, and we've done well with what we've had so far, but this is a huge (and scary) step forward. We've both worked for years to be able to have the opporunity to build something like this from the ground up, and we want to make sure we do this the best way we know how, from the very begining.
In Atlanta, a lot of major studios have closed over the past few years, because the people who love those studios are not always the people who own them. We aim to change that. Standard Electric Recorders opens January 1st, and it is here to stay.
