Help Stand Up to Donald Trump
Despite her initial reluctance and great fear, Jill Harth courageously decided to share her allegations of being sexually harassed and assaulted by Republican Presidential Nominee, Donald Trump. She was the first woman to do so, on July 18, 2016. For three long months, she was the only one out there, facing social media hate and losing business. She’s been vindicated by the “hot mic ” tape released on October 7, 2016, in which Trump brags about kissing women and grabbing their genitals.
Let’s help Jill get back on her feet!
Since her 1997 sexual harassment lawsuit , Jill has maintained that Trump groped her, without her consent, on three different occasions when she was trying to do a business deal with him. In one incident, she says that he pushed her into the children’s room at his Florida Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump then pinned Ms. Harth against the wall. He fondled her, tried to get up her dress, and forcibly kissed her.
Trump settled Jill’s case three weeks after she filed it. He then invited Jill and her husband to a party and suggested they all “bury the hatchet.” Jill was more than willing to turn the page and move on with her life. “I’m a Christian, and I forgave him,” she says. “And he didn’t do anything inappropriate to me after that. So I moved on.”
Years passed, and Jill says that she and Trump had a cordial relationship. Jill got divorced and found a new career as a freelance make-up artist with her own make-up and skin care line . Jill passionately pursued her dream of creating affordable hypoallergenic, gluten-free, paraben-free, and cruelty-free products that would help women feel radiant and confident. She moved to a new city. Donald Trump was the furthest thing from her mind.
In 2015, Trump's presidential campaign invited scrutiny into his past, which is littered with accusations that he behaved badly with women. At first, Jill refused all the reporters’ requests to talk about her experiences with him, believing that they had indeed “buried the hatchet.” But when Trump reacted to a New York Times exposé on Trump’s mistreatment of women – including Jill – by claiming the women were all liars, and when Ivanka Trump said “my dad is not a groper,” Jill reached her breaking point. Jill did a few interviews and shared her story. “I am not a liar,” Jill declared.
Jill’s decision to come forward and relive her experience was not easy. Jill knew that his supporters would try to discredit her. She knew her face and story would be on TV, news articles, and other media channels. Trump is a powerful, rich man, who has millions of angry supporters.
Speaking out took an economic toll on Jill. Clients cancelled, saying they did not want to be associated with her “controversial” story. Bookings dried up. Trump threatens to sue everyone who crosses him. Jill retained Lisa Bloom and The Bloom Firm to represent her.
Jill now faces hard economic times. The GoFundMe proceeds will go towards paying Jill’s bills, shoring up her business, and paying legal fees. The funds will go to Jill's attorneys at The Bloom Firm, who will disburse the funds.
We ask for your support of Jill. Let’s show her there are more good people than bad, who want to help her.
@MelissaTaylorThe Bloom Firm is a small public interest law firm that operates on a narrow margin to help many people, often for free or low cost. We have represented Jill at virtually no cost for several months, devoting many hours to her case. Most of the funds raised here will go to Jill. However, our hardworking staff have bills, rent, and other living expenses to pay for. We nonetheless thank you for your concern. You can also support Jill by making a purchase at JillHarth.com, where Jill sells her beautiful make-up and skin care products. Jill has lost a lot of business since coming forward. We encourage people to support Jill in anyway, whether through GoFundMe, a JillHarth.com purchase, or public support and encouragement.
Jill Barth is one of the strongest voices & has been selfless! She did this for all women & her country & received only more abuse & threats for telling the truth! I will always stand with Jill! Thank you for your confidence & bravery! With love & solidarity
I can't donate, but I wanted to thank you for standing up to those lies. He settled the case because he was guilty. Why would he want to leave doubt if he didn't do this? Three weeks in? In a civil case, and with his resources? I know you know he lost, and I know I'll convince exactly no one who is up that creek already... but just so you know? That's him losing. *** No matter how much time a lawyer donates they can't make it completely free. (There's a court fee for everything.) At some point I've seen most of the lawyers I know doing some kind of steady work to keep the lights on. More bluntly? If she was getting paid for her time as a lawyer... I've never seen a fundraiser for 10k in legal fees. To face down Trump? (who I hear loses a lot but certainly has the resources to bury people in papers)
Melissa Taylor, I don't know why you would assume Lisa Bloom makes "millions of dollars" from "all the contingency cases" she has. Lisa Bloom is a dedicated and committed civil rights lawyer. Civil rights cases are very high risk, cost a great deal to prosecute, and don't necessarily pay. Even when successful, the victory may be extremely meaningful to the plaintiff but not produce a significant monetary remedy. Lawyers who do her kind of work do it for the love of justice, not for the money. I suspect Ms. Bloom has already put a huge amount of time and effort into Ms. Harth's case for free, particularly given the public scrutiny that would follow it -- it would be career suicide to take a case like this without doing a tremendous amount of due diligence first. And it's going to require an incredible amount of time and effort to prosecute successfully -- how many lawyers do you think Trump is going to send after Ms. Harth to throw roadblocks in the way? Dozens? Hundreds? And finally, I think we should all be PROUD to donate to Ms. Harth's case -- to show her support and encouragement for coming forward under what must be extremely stressful circumstances, and to get to the truth about Trump once and for all, for the good of our country.
Why won't the Bloom Firm represent this woman for free? How many millions of dollars do you get from all the other contingency cases you have? You are receiving huge publicity from this case which will surely cause sexual assault victims to come to you for their cases -- cases in which you will make huge fees. Why are you insisting that the public pay your fees when you can surely donate your own time?
