My close friend Idris "Starchile" O'Ferrall has been a pillar in the Portland Music scene for decades. Unfortunately, in March he wasn't feeling well and decided to drive himself to a local hospital. By the time of his arrival he was unable to communicate and formulate his thoughts accurately..
After several tests, he had to go into emergency surgery to stop bleeding in his brain.
His current diagnosis is:
1. CNS Lymphoma which is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the lymph tissue of the brain and/or spinal cord.
2. Microbacterium Absessus in his brain and on his heart valves, and a absess on his brain.
Needless to say that these are very serious conditions. He is currently going through steroid treatments as well as radiation treatment. This has definitely impacted his life as well as his family and those that care and love him deeply. The reality is that he needs financial support for the medical treatments he is receiving now, the post hospital rehabilitation services and the accummulating bills (rent, utilities, etc) that he is no longer in a physical position to take care of.
This is where your help "The Village" comes in. Your imediate donations will help relief some of the burdens from his mind, and his family, so that they can concentrate totally on prayers and support for his recovery.
One year ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer and Idris was there supporting me and was part of the campaign to help support my family. So I am gladly doing this for my good friend and hope that you would find it in your hearts to support him as well.
