Staffie and Stray Rescue is a registered charity (No.  1163631) based in Ferndown (The office) but covers the Bournemouth and surrounding area. The aim of the rescue is to find foster homes and permanent homes for dogs in need of a new home. Staffie and Stray take on dogs whose owners are no longer able to look after them due to unforeseen circumstances. The rescue is seeing increasing cases of abuse, neglect and homelessness. The rescue is entirely volunteer based -  The small but mighty team does a fantastic job in supporting the Staffies who come in needing our help.

Staffie and Stray Rescue also campaign to help change people’s negative attitudes towards Staffordshire bull terriers, who are often portrayed as dangerous dogs in the media. With 75% of stray dogs being Staffordshire bull terriers, we hope to encourage more people to rehome the breed.  The Staffordshire bull terrier is known to have the nickname "the nanny dog" as a result of the breeds affinity with children.

Staffie and Stray Rescue prides itself on being a family run rescue where all family members take an active part in supporting the rescue in all rescues such as admin, fundraising and meeting, assessing and successfully rehoming dogs.  Staffie and Stray Rescue is there for member of the public who may need advice. The rescue always provides information and advice to those who need it, as well as supporting families who may not necessarily need their dogs rehoming, but need some guidance.

The rescue also works with local dog wardens and the best dog behavioural therapists in the area to ensure that all dogs in need find the perfect home and happy ever after that they deserve.

Although predominantly a Staffie rescue, Staffie and Stray Rescue will never turn away other dog breeds that need their help.

Please donate to support the cause!

Hello Everyone!

This month we have been inundated with phone calls from people who desperately need our help in rehoming their dog.

In addition, many of our existing dogs are requiring lots of veterinary treatments that we provide such as neutering and vaccinating. Some of our dogs also need additional treatments this month such as tooth removals, teeth cleaning & a cruciate ligament which is a £2000 operation!!

This has resulted in a very hefty vet bill this month.

To continue the health and well being of our dogs, fundraising for these vital funds is important.

Please can we ask for your help on this?

Any donation amount is greatly appreciated!

Thank you all for your continued help and support!

Best Wishes,

The team at SSR x

Buster, Lucy and Missy are our 3 MOST URGENT dogs who need FOSTER OR FOREVER HOMES.

Please get in touch if you live in the Dorset area and are able to temporarily foster or permanently rehome. These dogs cannot be rehomed with other animals unfortunately.

Please find more information about all three of them on our website.

If you are unable to help, please consider donating. If no places are found, SSR will pay out for the dogs to go in to kennels, which will be costly!

Please donate and help our dogs who deserve so much more than they have!

Please keep sharing these dogs!
Thank you

Share the Love this Valentines by donating to our deserving Staffies! Our dogs get all the treatment that they need when they come in to our care.
You may be surprised to find that even the smallest amounts of money can all go towards the cause and help a rescue dog. This is what your help and money can do:
£4 can provide worm treatment to a dog
£6 can provide flea treatment to a dog
£10 would provide one night’s stay in boarding kennels
£12 is the cost for an initial health check and consultation with the vet. Every dog in our care receives this.
£15 would microchip a dog
£25 would pay for specialist leads, collars, halti’s or muzzles.
£25 would cover the cost of a booster vaccination
£40 is the cost for an hours session with a behavioural therapist
£50 is the cost for a full set of vaccinations, for a dog who has never been vaccinated before.
£140 is the cost of a neuter
£250 is the price for a day’s consultation with the behavioural therapist.
£400 is the average cost of an operation, for example, the removal of cancerous lumps.
We are extremely grateful for all donations received.
We will post an SSR car sticker as a special thank you to those who donate £5 or more throughout February - Please let us know your postal address when donating.
Thank you all to your continued support - The SSR Team x
Spread the love!
